Clinical Hypnosis

Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation, focused attention, and heightened suggestibility to achieve a trance-like state of consciousness. In this state, individuals can access their subconscious mind and make positive changes to their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

A clinical hypnosis practitioner guides individuals into a hypnotic state and uses therapeutic suggestions to help them address a variety of issues, such as anxiety, phobias, chronic pain, weight management, and smoking cessation. They facilitate a process of inner exploration and change.

What to expect from a session with a clinical hypnosis practitioner:

  • Initial consultation: The practitioner will typically begin with a consultation to discuss your goals for hypnosis, your health history, and any concerns you may have.
  • Induction into hypnosis: The practitioner will guide you into a relaxed state of focused attention using various techniques, such as guided imagery, progressive relaxation, or deepening suggestions.
  • Hypnotic suggestions: Once you are in a hypnotic state, the practitioner will offer therapeutic suggestions tailored to your specific goals. These suggestions are designed to bypass the critical conscious mind and access the subconscious, where deep-seated patterns and beliefs are held.
  • Therapeutic interventions: Depending on your goals, the practitioner may use a variety of hypnotic techniques, such as suggestion therapy, regression therapy, parts therapy and visualization.
  • Emerging from hypnosis: The practitioner will gently guide you back to a normal waking state.
  • Post-hypnotic suggestions: The practitioner may offer post-hypnotic suggestions to reinforce the therapeutic work and support you in making lasting changes.

Additional things to keep in mind:

  • State of focused attention: Hypnosis is not sleep or unconsciousness. You will be aware of your surroundings and can choose to emerge from the hypnotic state at any time.
